Below is a recorded interview I did recently with a 2nd Year Physician Assistant Student. She gave away some really good tips that I hope that you can put to use!

I really hope you enjoyed the interview with Bev. Stay tuned as I plan to bring you more and more informative interviews soon.

  1. David and Bev,
Thank you so incredibly much for this interview!!!!!!! It answered a few things I was unsure about and confirmed even more so the things I know I need to do to move forward toward the application process. I am glad you said the “wear a different color” to the interview tidbit because that is something I had thought of doing, but wasn’t sure if that would be frowned upon. Now that I know you did that I absolutely will!!! I will still make sure it is appropriate and professional. Thank you both for taking the time to do this interview. The topics discussed truly solidified some of the things that I ponder everyday. Bev you are someone to be admired with all that you do, being a mom and a PA-student. I give you my utmost respect, keep up the awesome work! Hopefully we will be colleagues someday. I will keep the motto “in it to win it” because I truly am in it for the long haul!! Thank you again David and Bev!!

    :)

  2. I listened to the interview last night. There were some great interview information in this recording. I had ot thought of what three things I would keep on a desert island with me, but once this question was asked I found all my things would be survival materials. I also thought the CASPA information was informative, however, I have completed that and am personally interested in the interview material, as I am in this phase of the process now.
    Thank you
    Dave & Bev

  3. Dave,

Thank you so much for this awesome interview. The interview was so enjoyable to listen to but most importantly, it was informative. Bev’s story and responses are inspiring and although I am at a point where nothing could deter me from my goal of becoming a PA, this interview has provided even more fuel for my fire of accomplishing my dream! I want to wish Bev not good luck, but “great” luck in her studies, future endeavors, and in her career as a PA and also let her know that just by doing this interview, she has truly made a contribution to those who come behind her, traveling the same journey on the road to becoming a Physician Assistant, just as you have and do Dave. Thank you both.

  4. @Morgan: Your response, like the others, is the reason that I do this. It is my goal to help make your dreams of becoming a PA come true!! Thanks for the kind words. :-)

  5. Dave,
Thanks so much for this interview with Bev. I have an interview coming up next week and am a little nervous because I am an older student. I had been a medical consultant in India for WHO but went into education and teaching since the time I moved to the USA to pay more attention to raising my kids. My kids(2 sons) were then very young but now they have graduated from High school and I have decided to go back to my first love – medicine. My speciality was Preventive Medicine (Infectious Diseases). Since I have had not much practical experience in the medical field for the last 11 years I am a little worried about the interview. What are you suggestions on what I should be focusing on at my interview?
    Thanks.

  6. Dave I absolutely LOVE this website, although it has me even more anxious about the application process. One minute I am feeling confident and the other I am in sheer panic and terror because of the CASPA deadlines. This interview was very helpful although I would like to hear you record another one but include a less experienced, fresh out of undergraduate school student that I can relate to better.

  7. This was an interesting interview. Glad you put it out Dave thanks, it helped me put things into perspective much better . The one question I am curious about is how students responded to the “why do you want to become a pa?” question. I was hoping sometime in the future you could provide a few students’ answers they gave that got them into PA school. Thanks!
