Physician Assistant Salaries—How Much Do PAs Make?

Future PAs I know that you are excited to get into PA school so that you can graduate, go out in the medical world, and help a ton on people. I also know that you want to know what kind of salary is possible for you. I have been a PA since 1999 and I have watched my salary consistently increase. This is a great thing, as in other careers, your salary could increase as your experience and expertise grows.

Let’s take a look at some Physician Assistant Salaries:

The bottom 25th % earns $79,691, the Median range is $82,968, the top 75th% earn $91,439 and many earn well above the $100,000 range.

These are just ranges and cold differ based on specialty, job responsibilities, etc. Per the AAPA.ORG census, based on data sent in by working PAs, the average starting physician assistant salary in 2011 is projected to be $83,557! This is awesome.

Now this is what I want you to consider. Every year that passes ,that you don’t get into PA school, you are potentially losing over $80,000! Let’s get you into PA school ASAP so that you too can one day take advantage of these potential earnings.

  2. Hi Dave,

I am a retired navy corpsman. I am in NYC and was wondering what PA schools give credits for military experience and training. I am also looking to use my post 911 GI bill.

    Regards
    Patrick

  3. @ Tanvi–Each school is a bit different. I would encourage you to contact a PA school of your choice and pose that question to the admissions director. That person should be a wealth of information for you.

  4. @Patrick–Wow! As a retired Navy Corpsman, that would meet all of the Health Care Exp requirements. Also since our profession was started with Navy Corpsman, that will look damn good on an application!!! :-) Best of luck to you and thanks for serving our beloved USA.
