When you sit down to fill out your application you should have all your documentation in front of you and ready to go. Gather together a copy of your transcript, dates of employment in the medical field, the names and email addresses of the people you intend to ask to give you a reference, the contact information for all universities that you have attended and a copy of your personal narrative.
You have the option of printing paper references to be sent in by mail. We recommend against this, it is by far better to have the reference sent in by email. This way you can track it and there is no worry of the person evaluating you forgetting to send it and you know immediately when your application is considered complete and is being forwarded to the programs that you have selected.
Do be sure that the person that is giving you a reference is aware that they will be contacted via email as soon as you enter the information. Some email filter programs will read this as a spam email, so make sure they know to check that folder for your reference request.
It is very important that you fill out the application completely. It is possible to start the application and return later to finish, but it is our feeling that it is best to complete the application in one sitting.
Once you have completed the application make sure that you print a copy of it for your records and personal reference.
